Little Inventors Worldwide
Little Inventors is a beautiful project created by inventor Dominic Wilcox which aims to bring children’s invention ideas into reality.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with Little inventors since its inception in Sunderland (UK) 2016 by animating children’s drawings and bringing their inventions to life. We always try to keep as close as possible to their original designs and only add or (ever so slightly) modify elements when it’s needed for the idea to come through visually.
It’s a challenging, but really rewarding project. Each invention is a little world of its own, with its own peculiarities and design style. We change our animation style and tools to fit each drawing. The team at Little Inventors really do a great job at helping children bring out their ideas, so on our side we’re always guaranteed to work on animating really creative concepts. Some of our animations have been featured in CNN Canada and the BBC’s documentaries about the project.
We had the opportunity to run a few Little Inventors workshops in schools in Buenos Aires, Argentina back in 2018. It was definitely a step out of our comfort zone (we like our computer screens), but it was nonetheless a lovely experience.
